What is CranioSacral Therapy?
CranioSacral Therapy is light touch, non-invasive, safe treatment designed to release restrictions in order to facilitate movement, relieve pain and optimize the function of the Central Nervous System.
Movement Is Life!
Where there are restrictions and tensions in the body, pain and dysfunction result.
Craniosacral Therapy can help you achieve your physical/emotional goals and accelerate the progress of other therapies you are using to aid in your healing.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY IS FOR…
- Debilitating Depression/Anxiety Severe Stress
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Sinus Pain
- Chronic Pain that hasn’t abated with other treatment,
- TMJ/Teeth Grinding or Clenching/Tongue Tie
- The struggle to make permanent lifestyle changes
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
You will lie on a massage table in comfortable clothing. Relaxing music plays and you rest! The practitioner uses light touch, manual techniques with the hands to release problem areas. This improves the function of the Central Nervous System, which gives the body what it needs for self-healing.
During the treatment, the Sympathetic Nervous System (flight or fight response) is dialed down and the Parasympathetic Nervous System (rest, digest, repair response) can function and aid in the healing process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is Craniosacral Therapy energy work?
A: No, CST is a manual therapy. However, whether it is physical restrictions or energy restrictions that are palpated and found by the practitioner, both will be released through CST techniques.
Q: What will I feel during treatment?
A: This varies from person to person. I feel absolutely nothing, usually, during the treatment itself. But within the next few days and up to a week later, I start seeing/feeling profound results. Clients have reported feeling a deep sense of relaxation; some clients fall into an alpha state of sleep; some clients report feeling physical releases in areas of pain. Many people report sleeping better than they have for a long time.
My professional and personal recommendation is that everyone should receive some kind of bodywork once a month, at a minimum. I receive bodywork every week, myself. This includes massage or CranioSacral Therapy, for me.-AMY BECHTEL KIMBALL, OWNER OF OGDEN MASSAGE FOR PAIN RELIEF
